Exam seating charts: separate students and keep the room clear

Exam seating is different from everyday classroom seating. The plan should reduce confusion, preserve accommodations, and make proctoring easier.

Separate the constraints

Start with accommodations, accessibility, and testing requirements. Lock those seats before arranging the rest of the room.

Use spacing as a planning rule

If the room uses tables or pods, avoid placing students too close when the test requires independent work.

Export a substitute-friendly copy

Proctors need a clean chart with names and table positions. Export the final plan before test day.

Exam seating checks

  • Accessibility and accommodation seats are locked.
  • Desk or table groups are clear.
  • No old class seating chart is mixed in.
  • A printable export is ready.
