Wedding and event planning
Kids at weddings: a practical seating guide
Choose children's seats with their caregivers. Age alone does not decide whether a separate table will work; comfort, support needs, and the room matter too.
Set up your guests and tables, then choose a plan.
Start with the family
Ask whether each child should sit beside a caregiver. Include every child in the guest count, and confirm highchairs or other seating with the venue. Do not assume older children will supervise younger ones.
Check a separate table carefully
Use a children's table only with caregiver agreement and a named, willing adult responsible for supervision. Keep caregivers nearby. Check the position of speakers, hot service areas, doors, and walking routes with the venue.
Coordinate dinner and the final plan
Agree on meal timing and suitable activities with caregivers and catering staff. Keep decorations and activities appropriate for the children attending. Lock agreed family seats in Seat Maker, then share the current plan with the setup team.
Before sharing the plan
- Confirm caregiver seating and supervision
- Check highchairs and safe routes with the venue
- Agree on meals and send the final plan
