Wedding and event planning
Plus-one seating: keep companions together
Decide who is invited before assigning seats. Your capacity and relationships shape the invitation list; a seating chart should reflect that decision rather than make it for you.
Set up your guests and tables, then choose a plan.
Confirm the invitation and the name
Use consistent wording for named partners and open plus-one invitations. Ask for the attending companion's name by your RSVP deadline. Keep a clear temporary label in the working list until it is confirmed, then check spelling before printing.
Seat the pair together
Keep companions at the same table unless they ask otherwise. Add welcoming guests with shared interests where possible. Do not split a pair to fill isolated spare seats or exceed the venue's confirmed table capacity.
Review changes before sharing
If a companion changes, check the new name, meal information, and table assignment. Update the working plan in Seat Maker and send a new dated export to the venue. Replace affected display cards separately; older copies remain unchanged.
