Wedding and event planning
Wedding seating for 200 guests: plan the room first
For 200 seated people, 25 tables of eight or 20 tables of ten are arithmetic starting points, not approved room layouts. Confirm usable capacity with the venue before assigning names.
Set up your guests and tables, then choose a plan.
Count everyone once
Decide whether 200 includes the couple, children, and other people dining. If the couple sits separately and is included in 200, distribute the remaining 198 among guest tables. Check table sizes, place settings, and actual seats available rather than rounding down.
Confirm the room layout
Place the couple's table, dance floor, catering stations, and service areas before seating guests. Ask the venue to confirm circulation and exit access with the proposed furniture. A brochure's maximum capacity may use a different layout.
Assign groups, then check every guest
Import and deduplicate the list in Seat Maker. Place families, companions, and guests with agreed access needs first. Lock those seats before testing remaining placements. Check for missing guests and overfilled tables, then send a dated export; earlier PDFs stay unchanged.
Before sharing the plan
- Confirm who is included in the total
- Have the venue approve table capacities and layout
- Check every name and share one final version
