Salem Chapel & Event Venue

Nestled in Rice, Virginia, Salem Chapel and Event Venue is a timeless wedding chapel and reception space where history, romance, and modern elegance meet. Originally built in 1884, the former Salem United Methodist Church was named after the Hebrew word “Shalom,” meaning peace—a fitting foundation for the countless love stories celebrated here for well over a century. Owned and lovingly restored by Caryn Kayton, Salem Chapel has been thoughtfully renovated to preserve its historic character while incorporating modern amenities to serve today’s couples. The result is a venue that feels reverent and authentic, yet warm, welcoming, and beautifully functional for a full wedding day celebration. The venue features get ready rooms for the bride and groom, as well as a catering kitchen, a reception hall and a pre-reception area. Best suited for weddings of 100 or less.
