Shuffle guests while locking VIP seats

This workflow helps you test options without risking your most important placements.

Why it helps

  • Lock critical seats before shuffling.
  • Generate fresh options without manual rework.
  • Fine tune by hand after each pass.

Seat Maker workflow

  1. Step 1Place the guests whose seats are fixed: parents, honorees, sponsors, speakers.
  2. Step 2Lock those seats so no later change can move them.
  3. Step 3Shuffle the remaining guests to see fresh table combinations.
  4. Step 4Keep the version you like and export it for the venue.

What to check before you finalize

  • Lock only true constraints, such as hosts, honorees, accommodations, and promised sponsor seats. Too many locks leave no useful room to explore.
  • Review each shuffled table for capacity and social fit; a random arrangement is a starting point, not an automatic final answer.
  • After choosing a version, make the last sensitive placements by hand and verify that every important lock is still present.

Protect key seats first, then test options quickly.
